Wednesday

One more day in the house would probably drive me nuts, so I finally decided to have a little adventure. Turns out this tiny city is, well, tiny; so I decided to go to the bigger cities up North.
Now, I always learned that Wednesday is the least busy day in all of the weekdays. What with my years of paying the bills and going to the grocery. People are less excited to pay the bills on Wednesday since they'd probably done so on Monday, or they're probably the lazy bunch who wait for the last hour on Friday.
Whatever the reason may be, I've had too much experience to tell that  Wednesday is Chill day for banks, offices, and bill outlets (I really don't know what they're called).
I figured that it might also be the perfect day to get out and have fun under the menacing heat of the sun. Ok, so it's not entirely fun to be sun stroked, but I always like bathing with the heat after days of lazing and listening to the pouring rain, with nothing but Harry Potter e-books in my computer to cheer up. Yes, it was raining days ago, and it was pretty much my excuse for not going out and doing some chores (like getting the laundry, which was supposed to be home sweet home last Friday). Then, I ended up eating everything that happens to be inside the fridge. And outside the fridge. So, I'm pretty much porkier than ever. I bought a pair of shoes, but I simply couldn't  get myself to run. It feels weird when you're all by yourself in a next town. Well, I'd been here for a couple months, but I did not exactly make friends. Also, I always have this weird feeling that some crazy person would pull me, whilst jogging or something. Talk about paranoia.

On my way to nowhere. That's my favorite neighbour's fence. Nobody lives there so I get to pick the some flowers and bring them home. :P

the pansit canton effect

i was cooking pansit canton for the little Mandrake, a.k.a. Bryce, and decided to use a ceramic pot instead of a metallic one because it retains more heat than the latter. i.e., it saves more fuel. Mandrake was too excited so he just stayed there, bright eyed, waiting for his pansit..so i lectured him about how the liquid inside the ceramic pot continues boiling even after putting the energy off, and all that greenhouse effect stuff that we learn from school.
so i asked him:
"do you know what greenhouse effect is?"
"mmmm (yes)!"
"what is it then?"
"pansit!" :D
now, he's really hungry.
that's one hot pansit.

couch camote

when you're unemployed and have nothin' better to do (aside from washing the dishes, doing your laundry, and listening to your mama nag when the house is a total mess because your little nephew's a total brat mandrake) it's only fair to say that the most (ahem) intellectually productive thing to do is download and watch a bunch of movies.

and when your done, what do you do next???
that's right. watch more movies

she sells seashells

summer's near, and all i could think of is seashells.
and i'm talking about fresh seashells...the kind that's desperate to
crawl out of a piping hot pot...yummmmm
ok, i know it sounds brutal, but we've learned that seafoods are best cooked fresh...alive.
so momma and i went to a seafood haven, in a town called lilo-an stitch.
it's actually just lilo-an (because the sea has tons of lilo or whirlpools),
but my sister's friend calls it lilo-an stitch all the time.

these aztec shells were pretty nasty. they kept on squirting water.

barbecue fish...

...and puso are perfect.
